DocTrans Privacy Policy

1. Overview

DocTrans (the 'Service') values the personal information of its users and complies with the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection. This policy explains how the Service collects, uses, and protects your information.

2. Core Document Security (Important)

DocTrans does not store your original document (DOCX, PPTX) files on its servers.

  • Client-side Processing: Document parsing and reassembly occur solely within the user's browser (Web Worker).
  • Text Transmission: Only 'text data' extracted from the document for translation is encrypted and sent to the translation engine (OpenAI API).
  • Immediate Disposal: Transmitted text data is ephemeral and discarded immediately upon completion of translation, with no original content stored in a separate database.

3. Types of Personal Information Collected

The Service collects minimal information through Google Login for user registration and seamless service provision.

  • Name (Name)
  • Email Address (Email)
  • Profile Picture (Profile Picture)

4. Purpose of Personal Information Use

  • User identification and membership management
  • Service usage record management
  • Prevention of unauthorized use and access

5. Third-Party Provision and Consignment

In principle, the Service does not provide users' personal information to external parties. However, anonymous text data extracted to perform translation functions may be transmitted to the AI model provider (OpenAI). OpenAI is configured not to use this data for model training (in compliance with API terms of service).

6. Disposal of Personal Information

Upon a user's request for withdrawal or achievement of the purpose of personal information collection and use, the information is promptly destroyed.
